Travel back in history and tour the Granger mansion, Victorian gardens, largest horse-drawn carriage collection in Western NY, and five outbuildings on our 12 acre beautifully-maintained property.

A guided tour is the only way to see the museum.

Federal Mansion

Postmaster General to the United States, Gideon Granger served under Presidents Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. Granger built the grand federal-style home on Main Street, Canandaigua, as his retirement retreat. Today, the homestead is open to the public for tours and events featuring restored rooms and grandeur.

Hubbell Law Office

An outbuilding on the property, the Hubbell Law Office, was relocated from Main Street, Canandaigua, and was home to the law practice of Walter Hubbell. Hubbell was a prominent local attorney in the early 1800s. One of Walter Hubbell’s most famous law students was Stephen A. Douglas, known for his connection to Abraham Lincoln.

Barns & Carriages

Browse Western New York’s largest collection of 19th and 20th century carriages and farm implements. The property features three barns that display carriages, carts, wagons, sleighs, sleds and more dating back to the early 1800s.
